Arrival to St.Petersburg. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the hotel.
City Tour including visit to the Peter & Paul Fortress, the oldest building in town. The cathedral of the Fortress, though plain on the outside, has a magnificent baroque interior. Most of Russia's Romanov rulers are buried here (duration 3 hours).
(optional)During the fascinating midsummer "white nights" of Saint Petersburg can be offered "Night city tour" around the historical center of the city, when the bridges over Neva river are drawn.
2 DAY
"Get acquainted" tour around the State Hermitage Museum, the richest art collection in Saint Petersburg that stands among the greatest art galleries of the world (duration 3 hours).
3 DAY
Yusupov Palace visit. One exposition of this mansion reveals the life of aristocracy in Saint Petersburg, telling about one of the richest men in Russia, Price Yusupov, another excursion goes down to the secret apartment of his son, Felix, where on night of December, 17, 1916, his highness with conspirators killed Rasputin.
(optional)Water city tour along rivers and canals of St.Petersburg (duration 2 hours) can be additionally offered.
4 DAY
Suburb excursion to Peterhof (duration - 5 hours). Peterhof (Petrodvorets) - the combined ensemble of Russian Tsar Summer Residence, which main attraction - fountains - play a very large part in explaining Petrodvorets' impressive charm. The Grand Cascade & Water Avenue is a symphony of fountains and canals partly engineered by the tsar Peter I himself.
5 DAY
Russian Museum visit. Russian Museum often overlooked by visitors in favour of the Hermitage, the extensive Russian Museum is a must for anyone interested in Russian art and culture. The museum was founded in 1895 (duration 3 hours).
(optional)In the evening we suggest unforgettable performance at one of the former imperial Opera&Ballet Theatres of Saint Petersburg - Mariinsky Theatre (former Kirov Opera and Ballet theatre), Musorgsky Theatre, Alexander Theatre, etc.
6 DAY
Suburb trip to Tsarskoe Selo (duration 5 hours). Pushkin town (ex-Tsarskoe Selo) - evocative of the rosy days and the grey days of the Romanovs, the summer palaces were created for Empress Elizabeth and Catherine the Great.
The baroque Catherine Palace and/or the classical Alexander Palace. Favourite haunt of Nicholas and Alexandra, it ironically became their prison when they were put under house arrest before being shunted off to Yekaterinburg.
7 DAY
Cathedrals of Saint Petersburg: visit to St.Isaac's Cathedral or Savior on the Blood Cathedral. St.Isaac's Cathedral golden dome is dominating the St Petersburg skyline, the last neo-classical structure to be built in the city. 100kg of gold leaf were used for the dome and the end result - a lavish interior of marble and mosaics.
The church "Savior on the Spilled Blood" or "Resurrection of Christ" was built in 1883-1907 by the architect Parland in so-called "Russian style" on the spot where a terrorist from the revolutionary organization People's Will mortally wounded Tsar Alexander II on March 1, 1881, by tossing a bomb at his feet.
Transfer to the airport or railway station. Departure from St.Petersburg.
